Privacy Statement
This page explains what information The Application Lab collects through this site, how we use it, and how families can contact us about privacy requests.
Effective date: June 29, 2026
Information we collect
When you request a consultation, we collect the information you choose to submit, such as your name, email address, role, student's grade, services of interest, dream schools, and message. When you subscribe to the Lab Notebook, we collect your email address.
We also use basic technical information, including IP address signals, to protect the site from spam and excessive requests. The forms include hidden anti-spam fields that help us ignore automated submissions.
How we use information
We use submitted information to respond to consultation requests, send confirmation emails, deliver newsletter messages, maintain our records, improve our services, and protect the security and reliability of the site.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use student details to make automated admissions decisions, and we do not share consultation details with colleges or admissions offices.
Service providers
We use trusted service providers to operate the site and handle submissions, including email delivery, hosting, spam prevention, and optional form archiving. These providers process information only so they can provide services to us.
If you email us directly, your message may be processed by our email provider. If you submit a form, your information may be sent to the notification email address used by The Application Lab and, when configured, archived through Google Forms.
Newsletter choices
You can unsubscribe from marketing or newsletter emails by using the unsubscribe instructions in those messages or by contacting us at theapplicationlabb@gmail.com.
We may still send service-related messages, such as replies to consultation requests or scheduling communications.
Student and child privacy
Our services are intended for high school students and their families. If a student is under 13, a parent or guardian must contact us and provide any information on the student's behalf.
If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete it or obtain the required consent.
Security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information submitted through the site. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to respond to inquiries, provide services, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Your privacy requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or limits on certain uses of your personal information.
To make a privacy request, email theapplicationlabb@gmail.com with the subject line 'Privacy Request.' We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.
Changes to this statement
We may update this Privacy Statement as our services, technology, or legal obligations change. The effective date above shows when this page was last updated.
Material updates will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the site after an update means the updated statement applies going forward.
